About

Global Peace and Justice Auckland was formed in response to the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan post 9-11.

Our goal was to bring together all peace and justice groups where we share common objectives. We are concerned about issues in Aotearoa as well as internationally.

Our regular activities include a monthly forum (on the first Monday of each month at the Trades Hall, 147, Great North Rd, Grey Lynn) covering a wide range of issues usually with guest speakers or film/video.

We also produce the e newsletter to inform people about activities in Auckland and provide the most important messages from other groups in the broader peace and justice movement. We also select and link to articles that we hope are useful for keeping up with the news from the world’s media as well as statements from groups in NZ that maybe don’t make the mainstream press.

Please subscribe to the newsletter using the form in the right hand column and encourage others to do so.

One Response to About

  1. Hi there,

Hopefully this is the right place to post this comment, we couldn’t find a direct email address to contact you on but wanted you to know that Political Organisation Aotearoa has recently gone live with a new website: http://poa.org.nz/

We have included a link to your website on our ‘links’ page due to our having, what we believe, are shared interests. If for some reason you don’t feel the same, and would rather not be associated with us in any way, then let us know and we will remove the link.

At this point of time our efforts have been directed towards developing the texts available on the website. We will continue to produce texts that we hope will further the debate about political issues both within Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally – so keep an eye on our website for new material.

We also aim to extend our activities beyond writing. Our ‘to do’ list includes organising symposiums, developing research projects that will explore pressing social and political issues within Aotearoa New Zealand (which we hope will prove to be valuable resources for others who share our concerns), publishing, and much more…

    Kind regards,

    Political Organisation Aotearoa
